"Fish in Mind "- a Solo Exhibition by Choi Tak Yee

In the Beginning of February, One of the performers from “New Trend 2011”, Barbara Tak-yee Choi is going to present her solo exhibition “Fish in Mind”in Artist Commune.

The “Fish Algae” is one of the chapters in traditional Chinese-painting education. Different from the common intention of expressing “auspiciousness” amd “leisure”, Barbara begins her creativity from “golden fishes”. She manifested life drawing, imaginative thinking and re-composing to demonstrate how the “golden fishes” contributed inspirations to her creativity. “Fish in Mind”can be divided as three themes: “A Detailed Count on Flowing Fishes”,“A child, who is not a fish, would comprehend the satisfaction of the fishes”and“ A Re-positioning of Old Scenes”. These may be a kind of guiding codes for us to think about the current urban lifestyle in a deeper level.
